We had a terrible experience living at Shaker Villas 2, 19901 Van Aken Blvd. The longtime President, her successor, the previous President and the Board essentially orchestrated a lynch mob against us in order to protect their bad decision making, judgment and neglect. They hired and promoted a “property” manager who turned out to be a thief and addict and who ended up in jail. After 7 years of frustrating ownership we sold our condo at Shaker Villas II. An incompetent and negligent Board and floods, leaking ceilings, mold, a falling exterior brick wall, a worthless superintendent, bad management companies… and I advise potential buyers to go through all the available financials they can find and are “permitted” to see. After 7 years of frustrating ownership we sold and good riddance. An incompetent and negligent Board, floods, a falling exterior brick wall, an incompetent superintendent, bad management companies… and I advise potential buyers to thoroughly go through all the available financials they can find. Also, a lot of the leftover owners are not good people. We had to sue the Board and “settled” favorably, for us. Condo fees have gone up almost 100% in less than three years. The pity is that these are nice condos in a great location... read more
