After going here for a few years I finally came to my senses and left. Do not settle when it comes to your mental health.Mental health patients are stressed out enough and then to have someone completely ignore their phone calls and to say 'what you get is what you get' when it comes to medication refills it's completely unacceptable! After one intake over the phone with a Nurse Practitioner specialized in psychiatry, I was told that I probably have a mood disorder. I was taken off of my antidepressant of 14 years and put on an antipsychotic followed by a mood stabilizer. I eventually admitted myself to a hospital where I was diagnosed with OCD. I was told that the medication that I was taken off of was the only one that was actually doing anything.

Shahoud is a nice guy. His staff is complete incompenent. If anything out of the ordinary arises, prepare for an uphill battle. And let's be real, there is no un-complicated case. Stay as far away from the people this man surrounds himself with as possible. If it's just him, you're golden. If you have to deal with ANY of his staff, run like the wind. They will literally hang up on you, and not get back to you for more than a week.

I believe Dr. Shahoud is a very caring man and a good Doctor. However he would have a better practice if he would see his patients instead of his CRNP Tina Matthews. Unfortunately after your first visit with Doctor Shahoud you will be transitioned to Tina who will turn you care into what I like to call "fast food medicine". In and out with another prescription! Often she would call in a prescription that we had discontinued on a prior visit.

Dr. Shahoud is very kind and compassionate. I was shocked to read any unfavorable reviews. Both my child and I saw him for our initial evaluations, and I was very pleased that he was patient and unlike some other doctors, he took the time and was very thorough. Dr. Shahoud put my mind at ease when I was reluctant to put my child on medication initially--which turned out to be beneficial. He is also nonjudgmental and easy to talk to. The only thing is it can be hard to reach them via phone.
