Dr. Virginia Shaffer quit on my medical case. When I had been referred to Dr. Shaffer our first initial visit she told me and my wife, she would not quit and we would figure this problem out together. I had been battling this thing for around 2-3 years when I met Dr. Shaffer and things were impacting my daily life. I have not seen Dr Shaffer in about 3-4 years but have had her as my Dr since I have carcinoid cancer in my sigmoid colon and she took down the ileostomy and repaired the mess that the original surgeon had made when he took out the 12” of my sigmoid colon and left it uneven so it leaked! She was Heaven sent to me and C/O as many of you might, you sometimes have to wait for an appt or at your appointment. I overheard in Emory waiting room this woman had driven 150+ miles was 20 minutes late from ATL traffic and Dr. Schaeffer told her she had to reschedule. DR. only works on Mondays so this woman waiting for an oncology surgery may have to wait weeks because when asked by the patient to Please see her the doctor still said no she had to reachedule. This doctor is not in it for the right reasons. Sad
The only problem is getting appointment with her and for surgery and follow up . Dr Shaffer is nice usually on time and explain the disease and surgery very thoughtfully but like all doctors these days who don’t work for themselves is obligated to keep the schedule going, that’s why may seem sometimes she is in a hurry. I took one star off because of poor accessibility and scheduling .I have seen here probably 5 times for a somewhat chronic issue
