After sustaining a traumatic brain injury which went undiagnosed for months, I was in pain and suffering and felt hopeless. I was living but had no quality of life. Depression was setting in. I started going from one neurologist to another without ever getting diagnosed or treated. I finally turned to NYU , who put me in the hands of Dr. Shae Datta who immediately diagnosed me and started treating me .I know that i have a very long recovery ahead, but i now know i am finally in the right hands. I am forever grateful to her f... read more

I’ve seen a few neurologists; Dr. Datta is hands-down the best. She grasps the big picture of what’s going on with me, while she’s also laser-focused on the priority issues that most impede my recovery. She analyzes and synthesizes complex information about you and comes up with a protocol that is catered to your condition and needs. Her intense focus and ability to synthesize data, along with her foundational knowledge and experience of best practices, can lead to significant results if you follow her instructions. Dr. Datta is very kind, competent and helpful. She has helped me deal with migraine headaches as well as pain and memory issues. She explains things clearly and is kind and gentle when giving injections.

My aunt suffered from head injury when she was 2 years old and has various health issues including cognitive deficits. My mother knows her story of how the accident happened and the surgeries she went through better than I do but I was there to translate for my aunt from Spanish to English and because I am the one who always takes her to appointments. As soon as the doctor came in ON HER CELL PHONE, she said “I can’t have ... read more

Dr. Datta is an attentive listener and a highly proactive caregiver. I have multiple health issues and see many specialists and she has been the only one of my providers who took the time to study all my symptoms, order tests and refer me to other appropriate specialists. By doing so she was directly responsible for identification of the root cause of my health issues and for that I was able to receive life-saving surgery and I am now on a chemotherapy plan to treat my disease. Thank you Dr. Datta!
