We stayed at Shady Rest Motel for 2 weeks while passing through Gympie, and it exceeded our expectations for a budget-friendly stopover. The room was spotless—fresh linens, comfortable bed, plenty of hot water in the shower, and all the basics provided (towels, toiletries, tea/coffee facilities). Great spot, had everything we needed. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. They accommodated all our needs. They got a brand new BBQ while we were there, the pool was amazing. 10/10 would definitely recommend.
Stayed at Shady Rest Motel in Gympie and honestly couldn’t fault it. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a relaxed stay. If you're just looking for a bed, it is fine. Otherwise, the room we stayed in had a concerning tiled step inside the room that wasn't flush with the carpet, and had a metal edge that wasn't level with the tiles or the carpet. The bathroom had a gap near the mirror that opened into the roof. The toilet hadn't been cleaned properly. The fridge was not on when we entered. They have a front in parking rule but unfortunately the carparks are not really big enough for SUVs or Ute's and we had issues with our tailgate being in the... read more
