We stayed a full month at Shady Lake and can say that we enjoyed our stay. The location is both convenient and yet secluded enough to feel disconnected from the business of being in town. Management was always responsive to any requests we made. Keep in mind that this is not meant to be a 5 star resort, so I can say with that in mind they met the expectations and provided a safe and pleasant stay.
Met our needs, but not our expectations. Lot 41 is not a true lot. The sewer is an extension from Lot 40 and goes uphill. All your connections are on the wrong side. The lot was unlevel. The "fishing pond" is a joke. So overrun with weeds you can't even see the surface of the water. The shower house is questionable. One toilet is barely hanging onto the floor and one shower is nasty. Also, the train tracks are right there, so are about 4 crossings.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Shady Lake RV Park, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it! This park is a true gem, perfectly situated for anyone needing access to Leesville, the stunning Lake Toledo Bend, or the JRTC. Arrived 21st July 25 at 2:00pm. Made phone call no answer. Rain 23-26 July, muddy. No answer yet for per outages. Bad Park to come to. Dead tree's falling down on my 2022 motorhome. Insurance company will contact owners with lawyers! Got hit in left shoulder 27th by branch, nite. A lot of safety hazards, OSHA notified! Pictures on Internet totally miss-leading. While working in the area for 10 months on a project, we stayed at shady lake rv. It was very quiet and close to town and amenities, while staying through the winter months the maintenance guy was very quick to take care of any problems that came up due to weather conditions. There are a few things that could be done to make the appearance more appealing but over all it’s a great place to stay and would stay here again
