What a fantastic discovery for a getaway in the Shenandoah area! The cabins are stunning—beautifully and ornately decorated with such charm. There are plenty of incredible hiking trails nearby, and we received the warmest welcome from the owners. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. For those of us coming from Fairfax County, it’s the perfect distance: not too far, but just far enough to feel like a refreshing weekend escape.
Our wonderful weekend getaway to Shadow Mountain Escape was amazing and our hosts, KAREN & RALPH were equally amazing. They went out of their way to welcome us and communicate with us. Karen even surprised us by taking some candid photos of us in the pine tree alley! She also left some home made goodies on our doorknob Saturday morning. Our stay at Shadow Mountain Escape was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, Karen and Ralph, the owners, made us feel welcomed. Their hospitality is truly unmatched, offering a level of personal care that you rarely find in commercial cabin rentals. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. We had an excellent stay at SME. If you are looking for comfort, hospitality and quiet relaxation this is the place! Don't let the "Cabin Rental" Google description fool you. The accommodations are villas! A great base to explore the area. Enjoy the caves, visit the many wineries and enjoy fine dining at The Chop House in Luray as well as the Blue Door and Patty O's in nearby Flint / Washington! There is so much more to explore, we are anxious to plan our next trip here!
