WE LOVE Shaba-Shabu! My husband and I have been going to Shaba-Shabu for 6 years. We celebrate all our major events there! We always go for the Japanese side, though every time we say that we'll try the Thai. Basically, we have never been disappointed. We have always had great service and amazing food. I have to say though that we tend to go early so that we avoid the crowds.
Beautifully decorated. Food was mediocre We had Thai. Waitress was very pleasant and accommodating. $45 for 2 main dishes and 2 appetizers. Every dish had too much salt. Appetizers: Chicken skewers with peanut sauce. The chicken had a funny texture and was not flavorful. Spring rolls needed all the dipping sauce available. Main dishes: salmon with curry sauce, asked for red instead of green. I've had better red thai curry sauce out of a can. We also ordered a forgettable pork dish with mediocre sauce (sorry, don't remember w... read more
Shaba-Shabu Thai Japanese is GREAT! Love this place. We live in Durham and have been going to Shabashabu Raleigh for several years just to find out they also have a location in Durham! It was a total different atmosphere in Durham, nc. I would recommend both places to any couple who's looking to celebrate a romantic evening. Music could get loud late at night.
BE CAREFUL BE CAREFUL...I have enjoyed this restaurant in the past but was very disappointed with not getting exactly what we ordered, thereafter when I received the bill an order for sushi that we did not order was on there. The waiter Kyle's excuse was the table next door ordered but accidentally put on my ticket (table next door did not even have sushi on their table), He removed the item, I paid the bill and added 12% tip because of the service, Kyle has the nerve to approach me and my guests and tell us that we did not ... read more
disaster! wouldn't recommend at all. the foods are not delicious at all...well simply a disaster. plus the prices are very high considering the quality of food and service
Good Thai and Japanese The service is great and the decor is very pleasing to the eye. I prefer the Thai side, although I have had sushi from the Japanese menu and it was ok. The pad Thai is good here. This is a place I only frequent when invited by a group. There are better places to eat sushi and Thai food in the area if you aren't terribly concerned with ambiance.
Incredibly poor customer service, I would never recommend this place to anyone
I worked here for 2 months on multiple occasions i saw people preparing food included sushi without wearing gloves. Manager seems nice but really doesnt care about you or your experience, will disrespect you behind your back and tell the employees to tell the guest that they can go f $!# themselves. So good luck if you like shabashabu, now you might have a different view
This USE to be one of my TOP sushi places to eat until RECENTLY the customer service was a DISGRACE.Ive come there on several occasions (mostly for my ME time). This last visit was for my sons 12th birthday and it was myself and my two other children. Later arriving we're my mom n brother. Due to my moms financial situation they (my mother and brother wanted to sit at another table due to the buy one get one free rule) ,while my children (3) and myself sat at another. The "manager" (the African man that's ALWAYS there, who h... read more
