this is a small shop, it is pricey, and the wait times can be a bit long. know all of that and still know that this is the best place to bring your treasured items for altering. I brought a beautiful deep purple leather coat in that i bought during an italy trip almost 25 years ago. it had a couple cat scratches on the back, and the sleeves needed lengthening to fit my youngest. the tailor found a perfect black leather to add to the sleeves, repaired the scratches and added a strengthening seam around the tears so that lots ... read more

I called this morning to make an appointment to drop off a pair of shorts that needed a new zipper. The man asked when I needed them and I said by Friday and he said he couldn’t have them done until December! Really? Four months to do a zipper job? He was really telling to take my business elsewhere, which I did. Donatelli’s Custom Tailor Shop on Congress Street will have them done by Friday. So long to the Sewing Shop!
