If i could do 0 stars i would. My husband and I hired Sewell Landscaping last year, Dec 2018 to put lights on our home. They did a great job. No Complaints. However this year has been absolutely horrible experience. We received our invoice for the year 2019 right before Thanksgiving, said if we paid within 2 weeks we could have our lights put on prior to Thanksgiving. I will make this short and to the point. The Santa scene was on back order, it was my understanding the stands came with the display. Unfortunately, they did not and the company I purchased from was all sold out. I was able to find stands from a different company. Once obtained, my crew and I installed the Santa scene on the roof. Within a couple of days after installation, we had 65 MPH winds causing the welds on the stands to break. We needed an emergency fix to a three-foot retaining wall. John was very responsive and came out immediately to give us a bid. His workmanship was exceptional, the cost was reasonable and the work was done as promised and on time. We are very pleased wth his professionalism, and this small business. Thank you Mr Sewell
Sewell landscaping installed a 100 foot flagstone path from our retaining wall down to our dock. We had 5 bids and Sewell came in as the lowest. They came out and installed it when promised and did a very good job. I would recommend them - they were very professional and did the work at a very reasonable price.
When we met John Sewell, with Sewell Landscaping & Holiday Lighting, Inc, he had come to our home to give us an estimate to replace two retaining walls. One small in the front of our house next to the driveway & one large in the back next to the patio. He gave an estimate of $2800 which we agreed on. He stated he would email a contract for us to sign. When we received the contract the price was $3300. I asked why & he said he forgot about taxes & sod/sprinkler repair. First meeting for the estimate: I met with Holly and her husband and I gave an estimate and not a final price for the walls. I worked on the final bid which included sales tax, price for sod replacement, and the price of the block which was higher than what I quoted. Since it was higher they asked that I reduce my price to fit their budget so I added a larger cap to make it more affordable for them.
