RecommendedI highly recommend Seton..A private school education at home.. They are everything you want and love, with the flexibility you need.
We have an ADHD child and he loves this program. He is receiving a Catholic education at home and does not have the pressures or stress of school at public level or on a certain level even private Catholic school. He is doing great. He is enjoying the luxury of taking mini breaks during the day to control his stress levels and is a happier child.
It's true that the academic skills are strong. We learned diagramming, Math, critical thinking, and writing. However....the content is borderline white supremacist and shockingly violent. It teaches hate and exclusion, not love. Ex: In the 5th grade History text under World War 2, the Holocaust is NOT mentioned. I’ve used Seton homeschool for various courses throughout our families 24 years of homeschooling. I also used their standardized testing service annually. Our kids have gone on to private, public, and the military and we owe a debt of gratitude to Seton and their thorough homeschooling program. My son is in 5th grade, but I started him when he was 4. I have always homeschooled him, but this is only my second year using Seton. I chose Seton at the recommendation of our parish priest. I am so glad I did. The curriculum is challenging, but not overwhelming. I really like that the subjects are incorporated into each other. My children were complaining that there was too much work so I changed curriculum after 4 years of seaton for younger kids only. Now that I know the grass is not greener on the other side. I am using my old seaton books along with new curriculum especially in religion, english and reading. With our oldest graduating on Saturday, we can firmly say that Seton is a well-rounded, difficult but doable, completely Catholic and faithful curriculum that is academically rigorous as well as fun! Imagine being able to have it all! Our younger 9 children also all enjoy Seton! A blessing to our whole family!
