Short version: a $4,738 repair. I was told I owed every dollar, then, with my contract on the claim, that I still owed over $2,000. I paid $0. I only know that because I did this service department's paperwork myself. Two stars became three at the finish. On the people: the communication problems ran through more than one advisor, so this isn't about one person. My Outback (which I love) was in for service the person handling my service was Scott Alvarado. He was organized and explained what needed to be done and time needed etc. Without my asking they supplied me with a loaner at no cost to me. He gave me a detailed list of what was going to happen and how long it would take. I received several updates over 24 hours and I was called with a pickup time for my car. It was ready when I got there. Thank you Scott.
Wow! By far the worst experience I have ever had with a dealership. Don't take your car here for service or repairs. Completely incompetent. In February Modesto subaru preformed a 120,000 service which included replacing the spark plugs. In April the check engine light came on for a miss fire on cylinder 4. I had it inspected by a subaru dealership near my location ($300). They suggested walnut blasting my engine. I had it towed to Modesto subaru where they preformed the walnut blasting ($1500).
