The marble backsplash in my brand new home was cracked during installation. The crack spans nearly 15 inches diagonally, so it’s quite noticeable. Rather than do the right thing, the installation was completed in the hope that it would not be noticed. When it was noticed and they were called to come back, there was an insistence that it was a vein in the marble and could be smoothed. That process made the crack more visible.
