I had a rare condition that UVA would not touch. UVA has some incredible doctors, but they were not equipped to understand of help me with my unique condition. I am not over exaggerating when I say Dr Sommers saved my life. She is retiring, but i'm confident that the staff there is still just as competent. Not only did she identify the rare condition, but she was willing to do what she had to do to help me. Had I gone any longer I might have gone septic and lost the entire breast. Or died.
