I purchased a pair of custom fit ear plugs last year for concert-going and it's been the best investment I've made for ear protection. The concerts I've gone to have been around 100 decibels, peaking at 109 on my watch, and I didn't have any issue whatsoever with loud exposure while wearing these ear plugs. For reference, I use the solid filters for maximum protection. Foam ear plugs haven't come close to offering the same protection for me, possibly due to a lack of seal in the ear canal. My tinnitus and hyperacusis got so bad I haven’t been able to go to a concert since 2019 and thought all hope was lost since no ear plugs would help anymore to block noise.
