Four of us do a monthly dinner club and this place checked a lot of boxes! None of us drink so we're always thrilled when there's a solid selection of mocktails. Every drink we tried was delicious. We do 'family style' sharing of plates and got 4 small plates, 2 large plates, 2 sides, and 2 desserts. It was a tad too much food. Stand outs for me were the short rib, tuna, asparagus (great flavor though a little spicy for a few of us), and the brown butter caramel with the churros.
PLEASE GET SOME WORKING AIR CONDITIONING. Drinks and staff were all fantastic but inside the restaurant was excruciatingly hot. I walked by the thermostat on the way to the restroom and it was 88 degrees inside. I can't imagine how miserable it must be for the staff who are running around all day. The food also had a very long wait time. We waited almost an hour to receive entrees.
We had a reservation and right before we arrived, a “large VIP group showed up” and caused the kitchen and staff a hard pivot (it seems). Our waiter Allen (Alan?) was great despite the curve ball it seemed he had been thrown. The food was delicious and the patio was great. Took a while to get food but again, I think that was a nuanced situation due to the aforementioned large party that showed up unexpectedly. Our waiter was awesome despite all of that.
Food is excellent - limited menu and there were a lot of items "not available"... drink service very slow too. The charge an 18% service fee which they didn't mention and I tipped 20%... so my bill was outrageous. They really should tell you... I won't go back due to that.
I always forget they do not offer their full menu before 5. I’ll get there! Brunch also looks solid. The vibe of this place doesn’t really scream $60 steak entree, but maybe? Overall, I find the food/service very good in general (although only sat at the bar) and it does fill up quickly. The drinks are more than terrific and fresh. 20% service fee. Gordo crunch and seafood tostada are delicious. Great prices on HH. Please change your soap dispensers.
