We have had several companions from SHS over two plus years and they have been a lifeline of support to help keep my wife stable and comfortable here in her own home. It has also helped her caregiver to get some much needed breaks both to run chores and to de-stress for a little while outside of the house. And they have all been wonderful people who treated my wife very well, definitely five stars!

Seniors Helping Seniors took great care to match companions’ backgrounds and interests with those of my husband. Each companion was a valuable resource who engaged my husband with activities. Because the companions were so capable, I was able to go about my daily life knowing that my husband was well cared for.

My husband and I are so blessed to have SHS companions for my Aunt who lives with us. The challenges we face everyday having to care for a loved one that has Alzheimer’s can be extremely stressful but having help from SHS has been a blessing.for my family. The companions are compassionate, caring and very knowledgeable in dealing with an Alzheimer’s client. We can’t thank them enough for their help and really appreciate their time and support.

I finally met Carol (red shirt) from SHS on my aunt’s 100th birthday this past August. What a great friend she is to my aunt (white shirt). I appreciate receiving updates from SHS and knowi... read more

Seniors Helping Seniors has been supportive and flexible in designing services to fit the needs of my husband, diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment. The DayTrippers program keeps him engaged and active. He looks forward to the interesting trips with the group every week. In addition to DayTrippers, SHS helped us create activities with another provider involving exercise and socialization on another day of the week. SHS has helped our family make connections with other families and organizations as well as offer education... read more
