I'm sad to have to leave Senior Care Plus since I'm moving out of state. This is the best health insurance I've ever had. No health insurance is perfect, but compared to other ones, SCP is closer. The Renown network is huge and I got to keep all my doctors when I joined their HMO. It's amazing how well they coordinate care in their system and I can see my results, pay my copays, and check in online through Renown My Chart. The parts I do not like are typical, unfortunately. Until recently I would have rated Senior Care Plus a 5 star review but they have since dropped our primary care physician and her facility only to want us to travel 120 miles for a simple doctor's visit to another care facility with a terrible reputation. We are retired and this not only affects us both financially and physically but also affects hundreds of other families in our area.
This is the absolute worse insurance ever. If I could give minus 5 stars I would. I got a letter in the mail saying my PCP will no longer be taking this insurance, probably because this insurance doesn’t pay them enough. I have been seeing my PCP for 15 years now! And now I have to change. Senior Care Plus has been totally absorbed by Renown which I absolutely hate. I won’t be bullied into the Renown mob. I have been a member of Senior Care Plus for many years. In December 2025 I was in South Africa and got sick while we were on safari. I needed an ambulance ride to the hospital which was an hour away. They treated me there for bronchitis. Once home, in January 2026, I submitted all the medical expenses to Senior Care Plus. Fabulous "health" care...HORRIBLE DENTAL!! After 12 years with SCP I will be quitting them if they don't change dental provider by next year!!!
