The pastry was dried out. The half gallon of Kemp’s milk turned sour a day after purchase and it was not after the “sell by” date.

I do love this store and go out of my way from south waukesha as they have a great meat, fish and produce section. New construction a nice touch. Some considers: Bathrooms. Personally would have took the funds from the coffee bar and invested into the restrooms. They are a real sore spot on an otherwise attractive store. I almost think some of these negative reviews are meant for one of the plethora of "red bag stores" which are inferior to Sendik's Fine Foods especially in the meat & fish departments. If you've been around a while, you know the differences between the families. I remember my parents shopping at the Oakland store 60 years ago and I later shopped at Downer neither which ended up a "red bag" store. I will say the produce is pretty decent at all the locations. Done shopping here since remodel. Price of frid chicken from deli has more than doubled in cost. Use to buy 12 pieces for $11.99 now costs $25. RIPE off
I'm not sure what changed but the quality and customer service has greatly improved. There's always help when you need it and almost all of the checkouts are open. I won't buy seafood anywhere else as I have had the freshest here. Sendiks ham is the best and the cold case always offers many options. And did I mention the prime rib? I guess it's better to have one store and make sure it's good, than to have 50 stores (red bag Sendiks!) at which the quality and selection shrinks with every new store opening. V.Richards was our go to place for birthday cakes and they always surpassed our expectations. Since they closed, we came here to order a cake with my son for his birthday. Grown man who received a cake that looked like it was for and made by a 10 year old girl. The buttercream wasn't and the cake, although fresh, had no taste. Didn't even finish a piece. $50 in the garbage! This was on top of buying something spoiled there yesterday. If I go back it will be with low expectations.
