i have been trying to get a human being to return a call from Selman & Co. for several weeks. My husband received a 1099 from them - the issue I have is he has been passed away for almost 3 years. No one will return a call to me or respond to any emails. I have no idea where the funds went to - they did not come to him at our home. If someone can tell me how I can get to a real person there it would be appreciated.
Rating is ZERO stars. I called Selman & Co. back in November and was told they could not locate my policy no., therefore, I contacted my bank where my premium automatic withdrawals are withdrawn on a quarterly basis. I contacted the bank and had the automatic withdrawals discontinued since the company could not find my policy which I've been paying premiums for a decade or more. This company service your policy so you don’t have a choice to do business with them or not. I have a life insurance policy that started with Aetna, then transferred to Hartford which is serviced by this company, Selman. I’ve been trying to get their billing/charge error on my policy rectified for a year now since last August without success. I’ve emailed them multiple times without getting any responses back. Don't ever do business with this company! I've tried to get my co pay drug claims paid since February. They had/have my address wrong. I updated it myself when we moved in Sept 2019 and they never can get it right. All I get from them is the Quarterly BILL but no EOB's and no checks for copay reimbursement. I've literally called 6 times since February and all I get is the run around. They said they finally have my address situation straightened out but still no checks....only bills from them. This company is horrible. My father has a life insurance policy through them. He died March13th (3 months ago) and he had been paying on it since 1976. He never missed a payment or was never late. My family have been trying to collect on this claim since then. All we get is the run around from them. Last week we filed a complaint with the Department of Insurance against Selman & Co.. Bad company. Slow to pay providers and beneficiaries if you submit a claim, hard to get a hold of (super long waiting periods if you call them), no electronic lookup of claims like every other insurance company. Make me wonder if this company is having some financial difficulties causing them to be understaffed, and slow in payments.

DO NOT go by any of the positive reviews - they are the few and the lucky.This company will do everything it can to delay your claim. The customer service is mind-numbingly poor. ON-HOLD TIMES ARE AT MINIMUM ONE HOUR.They blame everything on 'the computers'. They will lie and intentionally mislead you. Specifically, Yolanda and Vortiste....and the rest of the employees don't sound like they have graduated high school. Stay away for your own well-being.
