Although it's been a couple of months since our amazing stay at Durrand Glacier Chalet, we continue to reflect on what a fantastic experience it was. The constant 360 views that surrounded us at the Lodge and on every hike were spectacular (not to mention the companionship of the goats). 2025 UPDATE BELOW. To sum it up in one word, spectacular! From the minute I got off the helicopter I was in awe of the surrounding views and the work that went into creating the chalet that was the base for my 4 day stay. There is literally absolutley nothing to complain about. The staff is amazing. I spent the long weekend in August with friends and family at Durrand Glacier Chalet in the Selkirk Mountains of B.C. Everything about my time there was so enjoyable and memorable. The chalet is warm and welcoming, as were all of the staff. Each of the 3 days we were guided to different locations with choices of distance and elevation, and with guides who were skilled and knowledgeable about the area. Excellent location, friendly, welcoming and knowledgable staff and an excellent experience
I hesitate to post reviews but feel compelled to do so in this situation. The lodge is so remote and in such a beautiful location. The hikes in all four directions are incredible and beautiful and different and challenging. The food is incredible. Everything homemade including the pasta one night. And the staff were attentive and easy going and extremely competent. And the owners, well, it is clearly a labour of love. One felt like a house guest, a welcome one.
