I rented a unit here for nearly four years and moved out in September 2025. I started renting when the facility was fairly new, but unfortunately it declined very quickly. The management issues were constant. There was rarely anyone in the office, and the elevator closest to my unit was broken for weeks; including on my move out day, with no signage posted to notify customers. I’ve been renting here for 2+ years and unfortunately the place has severely gone downhill! There were 6 carts in 2023. Now there’s only 1 left that’s currently broken. You can buy a Harbor Freight cart for around $40. Do yourself a favor and buy one and just keep it in your storage unit. Second the FLOORS NEED TO BE CLEANED! This is my first time renting with Self Storage on Kensington Court in Kensington MD. I was 15 mins away from completing my move-in when I was advised that the main elevator was not functioning. A call had to be placed to emergency services to rescue someone in the elevator. It's a Wednesday and there’s no one in the office and when I called for assistance I’m routed to the voicemail box for the District Manager. Who won't be available to return my call for 48 hrs? What gives?
The people who responded to my online reservation messed it up and put me in a different size unit than the one I had reserved. However, when I went to the counter at the Kensington location, the young man at the counter was very patient and very kind and straightened everything out. He got me out of my old unit and into my new unit in short order. I don’t know his name but he’s a great employee for Self Storage Plus.
