Self recovery was not transparent with me. I didn’t know their plan for me. I NEVER saw a Dr. only nurses. And after an emergency late one night with no Dr (keep in mind I was in a hospital with Self recovery) the nurse couldn’t get a bp or pulse reading on me (because it was so high) I told them what medicine to get out of my stuff. They refused. I left a couple hours later as my home was 2.5hrs away. I am honestly surprised they haven’t killed anyone yet. If you truly want help, I DO NOT suggest this place. Self recovery tried to have inpatient long term care. I was in that first group. They housed us in a hood low income apartment complex full of drugs. I was wanting so bad to get clean. And after only 7 days I was put in this atmosphere. Took me another 4 years after leaving that screwed up situation to find sobriety. Luckily I survived their mistakes. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who is a real one.

The first time I was there they were just starting out (like me) and everything there was a complete mess from the staff to the patients! The second time I went they had gotten their stuff together and they had a lot of resources to help me only if I would of took their advice! The third time I was there they put me in a good program and I made my way. I've been sober for years now and you gotta want it for it to work!!!!!
