There are no words strong enough to describe what the SECU Family House meant to me during my mama’s final days. When she was airlifted to Novant in Wilmington, my world was falling apart. I was exhausted, grieving, and trying to stay strong for the woman who had always been strong for me. But I had nowhere to go—no place to sleep, rest, or even breathe. Then came the Family House. The Family House was a wonderful place to stay, the staff was very willing to help, very knowledgeable and all around good people. It was very nice not to have to worry about nothing, but the care of your loved one in the hospital. It is truly a blessing to have a place like this to help people that live out of town, be closer to their loved ones that's in the hospital and let me also mention, it was a very safe place to stay.
