I will miss the SeaWitch. We have went there for several years. Awesome place in rooms, service and importantly attitude. I hate to see the end of a wonderful place. I had to push back our reservation due to an accident. I spoke with the rudest person on the phone. I always dealt with the nicest people before. He was an ass. Great location but…Our pet friendly, non smoking room was musty. Mold in the bathroom and on the mattress. I expected some funk from a seafront motel but this was ridiculous. Couldn’t open the window due to dry rot, a/c unit was moldy/cigarette smoke. Got home and could smell the residual funk. It’s a seafront motel but they could do better to take care of their guest.
New owners are terrible. Everything is apparently done remotely, probably not even USA. The room wasn't clean when we opened the door with a code they gave us. Dirty bedding, dirty towels in a wad on floor, dirty bathroom. Then after 4 hours of calling back and forth with the rep (no attendant here) they offered a different room at a different hotel a ways away with NO DISCOUNT. Not even when I told them how mad I was
The SeaWitch Inn and Cafe has been a staple of Carolina Beach and it's boardwalk for many years. Unfortunately, you can tell. This hotel has a great view of the beach, but for best viewing I suggest using the raised deck on property. The swimming pool did not seem to be open, which is expected for a late-October beach trip. Our room was far from ideal, especially considering that I had specifically booked a more expensive room to have more space, but still was checked into a standard room.
