Michael & Karen worked hard, following very confusing tech sheets, a phone call to a live person on a help desk who would not help them. Finally, they decided to check everything top to bottom, repaired a broken wire nowhere near the control panel. Machine started working! I'm anxious to do my laundry now and see how it does. Made by GE with Chinese parts, this Hotpoint washer was very aggravating for them to fix. KAREN & MIKE ARE KEEPERS. Thanks to both.

Michael was nice enough, but he listened to the washer for about 10 minutes and told me it would need a new control board. The cost of the repair was going to be over $800.00. Seriously, the washer is only 14 months new and I can buy a new washer for less. I told him no and did some investigating on the internet. Tried a new control board and that did not correct the problem, hmmm. It ended up being a slip clutch that cost under $20.00. First and absolutely last time I will ever use Sears repair. Do Better.
