On May 20th 2026 I had an appointment with a technician from Sears home services to look at my refrigerator that was not keeping my freezer frozen It was currently working I just needed them to run a diagnostics. My appointment was a between 9:00am and 4:00 p.m. the technician showed up at 6:00 p.m. I was currently on the phone with a representative who told me that once they left to give them a call and they would credit me the service amount. Competent, professional and courteous. Highly recommend.
For the past month, we had 3 appointments set up and the technician was a "no show." We were told that 2-10 would waive the technician fee for our inconveniences. Yet, when the technician finally showed on the 4th scheduled date, he would not look a the dishwasher until we paid him. Something in the system is very broken. Appointments are set up, estimated arrival times are given, then no one shows, on multiple dates. Shocking cost, but stuck with weighing the total after considering the visit cost. We could have gotten our replacement part for GE gas oven igniter for $94.00 they charged $250 for part and $340 for labor for 15 minutes of work. Looks like the CEO Lampert knew how to run Sears into bankruptcy, buy it, liquidate its assets and then still keep a hand in overcharging customers. Try speaking to a human… it’s all AI.
