Came out, said it could be the filter, could be the seal, could be the connection to the wall…but it was not the chip. Do you have the parts to fix those things? I asked. No but I can in 2 days. How much will that cost? It will cost $800 + but it may not fix the problem. I decided to pay the $169 for the house call and my mistaken trust in Sears. If I could give less then one star I would. My HVAC stopped working on the hottest day so far this year and my home warranty scheduled Sears to fix it. HVAC went out on the 21st appointment isn't until the 3rd, fine I will take what I can get. Appointment window is between 1 and 7 pm. My wife gets a call at 3:10 asking if someone is home and she confirms that I will be there. She gets a second call at 4:30 and isn't able to answer so the technician cancels the appointment. I waited all day for someone to come. They said it would be by 5pm. At 5:45, they called and said they would have to reschedule for 3 weeks from now.
Great experience.
* I would very much like to thank the technician for his excellent service. He was very knowledgeable and courteous. He arrived exactly at the time he said he would when he called to let us know he was on his way. His outstanding service salvaged what had been a nightmare before he came out.
