Updating again: Updating once again in 2025 that our window locks broke again. I do not update this every time they break. Other window locks have broken in between this time. I am updating now because once again I emailed Dan Searls about the situation and got no response. Asked about my warranty. No response. How can you not think something is wrong when a customer has had so many problems with brand new construction windows since the start? We worked with Searls on a substantial windows and doors replacement project for our home here in Bucktown. We had a strong preference for the design options offered by Marvin and Searls was able to help us through the selection process. Update on October 12 (see original review below this). Four days after sending an email to the owner about this in how disappointing this all is, I have had no communication from him. No "i am sorry" from the owner of the company that sold us the windows, no communication from Marvin Windows on setting up an appt to get this fixed even thought the part has been sitting there since Sept 30th. They have known about this problem for months and a rep was even out and looked at it but said he did not have the parts to fix it with... read more

The only reason I give this 3 stars is the installer. Take the installer out of the picture, and this is 1 star. Went to showroom, picked out window and didn't get that window. No brochures to take home on the window I picked and man who made the appointment was late. Someone recently hired tried hard to help. Won't buy Marvin again either. I bought 10 windows and 3 have huge gaps. Called Marvin within a few weeks, and weeks later someone showed up. Haven't heard from Marvin since. I purchased several thousand dollars worth of windows from Searls in mid November 2018. The windows were measured by one of their employees and orders placed. The windows arrived on site in January and to my dismay three of the windows (total 9 ordered) were dramatically smaller or larger (4”) than the masonry openings measured. I called the office and reported the problem.
