A diamond in the rough – Not what you would expect from a walk up eatery attached to a liquor store, Gerlach's Grill is a true treasure of Pasadena. The food is fresh, well portioned, and expertly prepared. It is obvious that the cook takes pride in his work, I have never had anything short of exceptional from Gerlach's. I do suggest calling ahead as each dish is prepared to order, so a 15-20 min wait is to be expected.
Fresh Fish Find – I ordered a tuna salad at Gerlach's, expecting a few slices of ahi served with greens. What I got was a half-pound of perfectly grilled tuna steak plopped on a fresh salad. Gerlach's offers wide variety of fresh grilled fish (tuna, salmon, sea bass, swordfish, sometimes shark). The fish steaks come with salad or grilled vegetables.
