It's a nice place, but I think it might be worth fumigating the house and spraying the yard; ticks are EVERYWHERE. We see about 1 every few minutes when we're outside and I've found a few just loose in the house that we definitely didn't bring inside. With how serious tick bites can be it's getting to be a bit dangerous and just generally uncomfortable. Can't recommend this place to people who are scared of bugs. Beautiful sea side cottage with a big kitchen, great bathtub and three big bedrooms. Our family loves to vacation here each year. It is a few minutes walk from the gorgeous white sandy Carter's beach and close distance to many gorgeous hikes. The home is farther off from the road and feels very private with a big field in the back leading to the ocean.
The cottage is in a nice location. But there needs to be better maintenance and some deep cleaning. They could have cleaned the path to the rocky shore and make the path bigger so that people don't touch the weeds or even poison ivy. The house was very dusty and had lots of bugs and different sized spiders. There were lots of webs all over the cottage. There is a musty smell in the house. My children say Sea Star Cottage is their favorite place in the whole world. The cottage is cheerful and bright. It sits well back from a quiet road that leads to Carters Beach. The beach is just a quarter mile away - an easy walk or bike ride - and is truly spectacular with sand dunes and turquoise water. Our kids loved the stream that crosses the beach.
