Very kind, tolerant staff. Even security was helpful when my Lyft was late and I had to wait for it in a stupid designated by Lyft area. I had a broken leg. The security made sure I was okay by checking on me. My ride came, then I was gone, I never got his name or thanked him. Or the other guy that kept me from freezing. I must have looked a mess on crutches. Thanks for making me feel like I wasn't a mess. It was an awful day you guys made it so much better just by giving me an extra minute of your time.

This was one of the most horrifying ER experiences of my life. I came in with extremely disturbing and terrifying GI symptoms and was in 9/10 pain—barely able to sit still, squirming in my chair, desperate for help. I waited over three hours without being seen, continuously asking the front desk if there was any way I could receive attention from a doctor. **Edited to add more names of staff that I remembered** My visit and subsequent stay at Scripps Encinitas was great. After being discharged from the ER at Tri-City with a kidney stone and zero pain meds or antibiotics a day later I ended up at the Scripps ER with a very high fever, pain, and flu-like symptoms. This was my first visit to this ER, and it was by far the worst medical experience I’ve ever had. I was in severe chest pain for four hours, fearing it could be heart-related, yet no nurse came to assist me. My friend repeatedly went to the nurses’ station asking for help, but the only response we got was, “You have to wait for the doctor.” In agony, I eventually went to the desk myself with all the pain I had. Reporting Dr. Haleigh Kotter immediately to Scripps, and the CA Medical Board for refusal of Vascular evaluation and breach of standard care. I came to Scripps ER with an active referral from my primary care physician for surgical removal of a lipoma.
