Built by Joel Scribner, one of the founders of New Albany, the Scribner House is a historic home dating back to 1814. One of the oldest buildings in the area, the Scribner House was made with ash and oak and comprises of several bedrooms, parlors, a rear porch, kitchen and hall. Added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, the historic house hosts events like open house and guided tours through the year. A Victorian-style tea party is also held every year during the Open House event in December.
