I waited less than five minutes to go into Dr. Holthusen’s exam room. I met with his PA, answered some questions, and then met with Dr. Holthusen. I had broken a toe while away for 2 months, and I was concerned that it was not healing well. Dr. Holthusen looked at my X-Rays, talked to me about what he was looking at, let me know that I had two breaks rather than one, showed them to me, and told me I was healing nicely. Dr. Holthusen does a great job at explaining what is wrong and what needs to be done to fix it. He goes through any and every scenario and makes you feel well informed and good about what your next decision needs to be done to correct your problems. I would highly recommend him for any health needs you need from TCO.
The appointment was on time. Doctor Holthusen showed us the x-Ray and provides us with detail on the break, the treatment and length of time for the break to heal. He examined the foot at the break and other areas. He also showed us some instances of other issues that affected the foot. He was very thorough and answered all questions regarding the break.
Dr. Holthusen listened and got right to the point about my visit. After conferring with him we decided it was best to hold off on surgery for the time being. He offered alternative suggestions for the near future other than surgery.
A recent fall left me with a fractured pelvis. The reason for seeing Dr. Holthusen today was to have a follow up visit about 4 weeks after the fall. I found Dr. Holthusen to be a very warm and easy to talk to doc who had a genuine interest in my progress. He had a couple of X-rays taken and showed me the results to help me better understand where all the pain was coming from. I would not hesitate to see him again however I hope I won't need to.
