EDIT: What seemed like an easy pleasant time was of course too good to be true. Signed all the paperwork at the approved 4.9% variable interest rate on my mortgage, and thought that was the end of that. Now, my first payment has come out substantially higher than quoted, and I received a renewal letter in the mail stating auto renewal of a 6 month fixed mortgage at over 7%?! We had been banking here for about 15 years with no issues. Recently our mortgage was coming up for renewal and we were working with someone there to refinance. Had a meeting to get everything organized and provided all the documentation but then about a week before our mortgage was due we still hadn't heard back so I emailed for an update. My mortgage was up for renewal this year, and having initially purchased at the start of the pandemic it was already stressful before stepping into the bank again. Shaun at the main counter was very helpful in explaining and booking my renewal appointment, and Kayla made the renewal process quick and painless, on top of getting me a fair rate.
