Looking to build a new home. Read the poor reviews. Did some research. Went for my own visit. Not sure if other reviewers came at a busy or bad day but my experience was very positive. I was greeted when my wife and I walked in. Employee was very informative and helpful. Spent time walking through design studio and answered all our questions. I just closed on my house today and the entire build was better than I ever thought it would be. The manager at the time, Jim, really help us walk through each step of the initial process. We had an hour-long meeting where we asked a thousand questions and he answered them all. Our house was built in almost exactly 5 months. They originally quoted us 6 months. The homes on Hwy 17 between Wilmington NC & Myrtle Beach SC are really beautiful. Such friendly staff that allowed us to walk, look, in a relaxed environment & not pushy.
Schumacher homes are exceptional and our project manager (Kent) was very knowledgeable, professional and cared about the reputation of the custom homes he was in charge of overseeing. He puts the custom in the customer’s homes. Kent listens and understood our needs. He helped build the home as if he was going to live in it himself. He delivered the home actually ahead of schedule. Building a new home is a lot of time, money, and energy, and can certainly be stressful at times. While there were certainly hiccups along the way, various imperfections, and trades that had to come back and fix things, our general contractor, Kent, was communicative and always addressed the issues in a timely manner.
