Schooley's Inc needs refresher course on customer service I went in to have a watch looked at and was told that they "would not touch it" - no reason given, but the owner refused to look at it to see if it could be fixed. Get the impression that unless you look "loaded" when you come in the door, he has little interest in you.

Recommended I brought in a family engagement ring that needed to be resized. We decided to replace the setting as well and they did a beautiful job. Plan to return for wedding bands.

Don't Get Schooled. Go to Mansour Jewelers and check the prices before you decide where to make any jewelry adjustments. Not only does Schooley overcharge, they make you leave your jewelry overnight even for a simple adjustment.

Incompetent Jewelers and Terrible Customer Service I recently brought in 2 wedding bands to be resized and engraved. Both rings were engraved incorrectly! And a diamond fell out of my wedding band as they were working on it. Instead of offering to fix their mistakes, I found myself arguing with them. The owner did not understand how the engraving was incorrect when it clearly did not match what was written when we ordered the engraving (the formatting of the dates were wrong). Also, they claimed that my rather expensive wedd... read more

Friendly and informative sales people Lovely variety of jewelery. Beautiful shop (nice and bright, clean and organized). The lighting is great for looking at stones. Friendly with browsers (like me ;-) ).

Ithaca's better mainstram jeweler Of the two mainstream (non-mall, non-custom) jewelers in Ithaca, Mansour being the other, Schooleys is the place to visit. Being mostly a watch person, that's what I'll judge them on here. With a line that ranges from Swiss Army to Omega, you have a good chance of finding what you want -- far better than you would expect in a small town. They're also quite willing to pull out the catalogs and show you models they don't carry but can order. And it makes no difference at what pricepoint you bu... read more

Quality jeweler Beautiful jewelry and a very knowledgable staff help enhance the shopping experience. This is not a mall jewelry store- you will be waited on by someone who knows their jewelry and can help guide you. For the most part, they seem to really try to help work within your budget. You will be able to find or create that one of a kind piece here that you could never find in a chain. Of course being so specialized comes at a cost. You will be paying for high end pieces so they have a higher end price then the chiain... read more
