I used to love coming here, even worked here for a year! But after they forced their customers to wear masks I won't shop here. I medically CANNOT wear a face covering and being refused service because of that is absolutely ridiculous. it's such a shame!!

Business response:

We are happy to offer curbside pick up for those that aren't able to follow the mask mandate when they come in to shop. We are doing our best to keep our employees and our community safe. Wishing you a happy and healthy holiday season.

I recently moved to Spooner. I am eager to support local businesses. This store is pathetic. The staff completely ignores the customers. They are so busy chatting with each other it is difficult to get service and when you do they are rude. The young man who checked me out tossed the bag of chips onto the floor and could not be bothered to pick them up. I had to walk around to get them off the floor. Their quality of products is questionable. The frozen chicken breaststroke were stringy and tough. I had to throw out the dinn... read more

I am so sorry to hear that your experience with us left so much to be desired. We pride ourselves on giving great service and great products. I am surprised and disappointed to hear that you experienced something so far out of the norm for us. I hope that you can give us another chance and that you have a more positive experience with us in the future. For what it's worth, welcome to the community. -Laura Schmitz

This place is not the best when it comes to what’s offered as well as the prices. EVEN COMPARED to other small town grocery stores the prices are high. Lots of expired and freezer burnt foods. If there’s a sale on something investigate the product because it is likely expired or very near to it. My advice is drive to Rice Lake or Duluth. Chalk the extra money spent up to standing up for your rights as a consumer. Their organic section is like 6’ long. Lots of GMO product on the shelves.

I would just like to say I appreciate how good of a job you always do stocking your shelves. Everything always looks nice and organized. You also do a great job taking care of my Taylor. I’m very grateful she has her first job at a place like this. I’m also so appreciative of what you guys are trying to do for the community and how you are handling the situation as great as you are. I hope more people will appreciate everything you’ve done for our community and we all get through this tough time in a more positive way, it is... read more

Thank you so much for the wonderful service! Your employees have really stepped up during this pandemic. While I’ve always been impressed with the customer service at your store, today, I felt it was above and beyond.

Family and locally owned grocery store. They have everything you could possibly need and will endeavor to stock something if they don’t have it. Living here for the past ten years many of their staff have become good friends to me. I am grateful to have this large well stocked store so close by. Yes, with the Coronavirus they have had trouble stocking some items, but that is not because of some iniquity in store management as all stores everywhere are having the same stocking issues at this time. I still appreciate this stor... read more

Even with the Coronavirus chaos going on, Economart still had quite a bit of stock, compared to what I am seeing and hearing about in all the big grocery chains. Not too crowded, shoppers all polite and giving space to each other. Staff still smiling and helpful, willing to check stock in back in case something just hasn’t been stocked recently. Economart also has some gluten free and organic selections, a decent amount considering it is not a large store or chain. They keep a good balance. I have been shopping here almost 7... read more
