Dr Schmetterer is a doctor who specializes in Veins and Vascular diseases. He was the doctor who amputated my aunt's leg a few months back. She had a follow-up appointment with him on Wednesday, April 23, at his Youngstown office. Despite the fact that he works with many handicapped patients whom he has performed amputations on and requires follow-ups at his office, it is not handicap accessible. I had a vein procedure done. Dr. Schmetterer explained that I could have some skin numbness and I did afterwards. He was very reassuring and explained that sometimes this happens even though saline is injected around the vein to protect the nerves. Just like he said, the numbness went away after 3 months and my leg is much better. I know 4 other people who had the same procedure with him and all had no problems. You can trust Dr. Schmetterer
I feel worse after the surgery and in so much pain. I have nerve damage after the surgery
I was very comfortable with Dr Schmetterer. I had been to 2 other doctors who couldn't figure out my problem and he went right to it. With one treatment my legs are much better.
I was referred to him by my family Dr . He was rude and clearly thought of himself highly and honestly didn't treat me well at all! I would never recommend him to anyone!
Saw the doc for leg swelling and pain. Turned out I had 2 different problems, with arteries and veins. He figured it all out and fixed both, some in the office, some outpatient surgery. Tells it like it is and delivers.
This is the best most experienced thoracic surgeon in town. You can trust him. He will take care of you like you are his family. Went to Duke!
