This is an amazingly talented and smart doctor. He exams your pet and YOU need to decide what is best for you when he recommends MEDS, vitamins, treatments, etc. don't give him a bad review because you are unsure of what you want when you go there and you don't like your bill. Get pet insurance instead of complaining. I have heard Healthy Paws is superb and pays everything, minus a 10% deductible. I love Dr. Taxir. He cares for our dog like he would one of my children����. I have heard that some think he provides too many shots or meds. This isn't true at all. Why do you bring your pet to the Dr then??! He prescribes and recommends what he thinks is best and necessary - like a Dr. would for you. You don't skip recommended treatments or medications because it's an animal. You need to determine what it is you want to decline, if necessary. I on the other hand have Healthy Paws pet insurance. Dr. T and his staff are wonderful! My 13 year old kitty was nearing the end of his life due to cancer, and we had to say our final goodbye to him just a few days ago. Dr. T and his staff met us at the hospital after hours so we could help him cross over peacefully. They were so compassionate and caring through this whole experience. I will never use another vet in the area as long as they are still here!
We have been going to Dr.T for a long time now. Already 4 years if I remember correctly, and I definitely would have to say that I recommend him and his services. I trust Dr.T and his staff with my pets wholeheartedly, and I can't imagine going anywhere else. If you're looking for a good family doctor who cares, I strongly recommend The Schenectady Animal Hospital.
My cat had an ear infection a few weeks ago and I was in a panicked mess when I realized how serious it was.Through family I quickly found out about the Schenectady Animal Hospital, scheduled appointment and was there less then a half an hour. The hospital was clean, friendly, quick and effective. My cat was in uncomfortable-clearly-but I saw that she wasn't that intimidated by the doctor.
