We bought a brand new house. The builder said they “cleaned the ducts.” Our vents were dusty in 2 weeks. We hired a real duct cleaning. The crew pulled out wood scraps, drywall chunks, a Gatorade bottle, and a pile of sawdust from the main trunk. The builder just blew air through, they did not actually clean. Now our house is truly clean. If you buy new, do not trust the builder. Get your own cleaning before you move in.
