I stopped in at Schacht Spindle Company in Boulder as a beginning weaver, still figuring out what kind of loom I wanted. Staff spent close to an hour with me going over the pros and cons of each type and letting me try them all. I got practical advice on picking a first loom and a few reference books to start with. Their looms are beautiful, well-built machines. Friendly people who clearly know their craft.
Took a beginner tapestry weaving class taught by Sara Goldenberg White. It was an excellent learning experience over two days. Sara is well-versed in many types of weaving and a patient teacher. She’s very agile engaging every weaver where they are. We were able to tour the factory and Jane Patrick, one of the owners, did a wonderful job providing history and information about the manufacturing processes and answering questions. The whole experience was fantastic!
Love my brand new wolf pup loom. Amazing Craftsmanship, satin smooth finish. A true joy to weave on.
Taking the tour is a must for any weaver. We were lucky to have Stephanie as our guide, and she did an amazing job. The place is amazing, and seeing firsthand how they build their products is fun. Thank you
I love Schacht's Drop Spindles. They are the most beautiful as well as functional pieces of all of my tools that I use. Couldn't find anywhere to do a review on the one that I purchased recently so I'm leaving this here. If you're second guessing about making a purchase I would highly recommend their products as there are nothing like them anywhere. :)
