This last time I was in SMMC ER (9-9-17), was the best. I have had several not so favorable visits, but Dr. Hoffman was able to DX my problem and able to arrange surgery for angry gallbladder for next morning. I feel much better than I have in past several years. I didn't know I had gallstones. Now I don't have to worry about them.
went to the emergency room for a very sick 4 year old at 9:00pm at 12:00 a hatefull nurse finally took us back and took my sons temp and vitals and then sent us back to the waiting room and said the doctor will see him soon at 3:00am we finally left the doctor never showed up. If you really need a ER go to midland because if you go to big spring you will probably die in the waiting room when we went they were not even busy but they did send a $1258.00 bill for taking his vitals (temp blood pressure and pulse )
I was charged over 4.6k $ for blood tests and an ekg during an emergency room visit for a panic attack.
Although I live here I will never send my kids there again! Only time I would go is for a cold! They have killed more people then they have saved!!!
While I am thankful to have Doctors and other medical staff on hand in an emergency, over the years I have been let down on more than one occasion with the care given in the ER.
