About this business

Located within the Liberty Hotel, Scampo brings in a delectable twist to traditional Italian cuisine. Chef Lydia Shire has crafted a menu that embraces the diversity of modern dining, while staying true to the restaurant’s Italian basis. The bread at Scampo is Naan, which is surprising, but offsets the Italian dishes nicely. Try the steaks, cod and cauliflower preparations. The duck also offers a refreshing variation. The heavy use of fennel is classic Italian, but the combinations of certain flavors certainly doesn&rs... read more

Scampo is Good Scampo is a nice place to dine with clients or for a date night. It's atmosphere is top notch and the food is good. It's location is a bit isolated but you will not be disappointed. Head over to Clink for an after dinner drink.

Scampo is nothing to write home about. The atmosphere is fantastic but the food was nothing to rave about. The "elephant walking" was supposed to be fantastic and it was unimpressive. The server was ok, but hard to understand and slightly intrusive. I don't think I would go back to this restaurant. I would however, go to the hotel for a cocktail in one of their lounges - it is a beautiful place.

Good, not great I had a really nice experience here, though it wasn't so standout that I've rushed back since. The decor is hip, the service is good and the food is yummy (if not a little overpriced), but nothing that truly sets it apart from other great Boston restaurants.

Great appetizers, nice manager, nice place overall – I've been to Scampo twice for dinner. It's in the Liberty Hotel which was a jail way back in the day. It's a great location and nice ambiance. The first time I went there, I ordered the elephant ear which was very tasty and very unique. I enjoyed it very much. For my entree, I ordered orecchiette pasta which was not good. It was in a light white sauce that was pretty bland. The manager came by our table and he's a very friendly guy. I went there several months later and th... read more

Love the Food, Great dining experience! – My husband and I come here frequently and we've never had a bad meal nor bad service. I love the fava bean dip with the bread sticks and Patrick's Naan is a MUST. The The Mozzarella Bar is amazing...we love the king-crab cocktail. If you like Lamb... try the Saturday night supper special. I also recommend the tagliata ..(thinly sliced sirloin steak.) The pizza's a re great! eat and enjoy!!

Inedible Fish – I took my wife for her birthday to Scampo The mozzarella was great - had the avocado/crab combo which was awesome the spaghetti with cracklings was good also unfortunately the cod was inedible and think she may have gotten sick from the meal. Initially it came out and was very undercooked - the manager brought the food back and apologized - when she returned the fish was so bad we could not eat it. I was disappointed as it virtually ruined the night... Not a go to place at all.
