Poor communication! They would not allow us to view the property before moving in claiming it was still in "make ready" status. Then once we move in the process was terrible. They did not explain to us how it went ahead of time which made picking up keys and such very complicated. The we move in and the carpets are visibly damaged. We applied for a rental property with SBD Housing Solutions. They used a company called AmRent to gain my credit score. Because I do not have any open loan accounts at this time, my score came back as 0 to SBD Housing Solutions. My score is actually well within the range they required. Because the system they used was not working to get an accurate score, nor would they let me send them my own documents with my credit score on it. My application was denied. If I could give ZERO I would whatever you do stay away from the property management company!!! This is a real Honest review. I signed a lease in 2019 with them for a home in the amount of $1,050 monthly. I then received a call from the owner and he told me that house was priced wrong. So they backed out of a legally bonded contract. They then rushed me in a home that destroyed all my clothing and brand new baby clothing ( 7 months pregnant this company put me threw hell) all they offered was free 1 month rent. My daughter rents a property from these slum lords. (Definition of a slum lords- a landlord of slum property, especially one who profiteers). She moved in on February 14, 2021 and was promised to have things fixed. Her front porch step is missing half of the step and is a hazard to the point delivery services won't deliver to her front door. This includes medicines that are vital to her daughters health and well being. While I'm not one to leave any type of a review, let alone a bad one -- this time I felt it was necessary. I, like you reading these, read the reviews to decide whether or not to rent from SBD, and ignored the bad ones due to the few good ones. DON'T make that mistake. First off, we live about 40 minutes from Blue Springs and were told at 9:00 the night BEFORE we went to pick up the keys that our security deposit and first months rent needed to be in a cashiers check. Worst business I have ever tried to rent from. Had to call 4 separate times to even get them to answer after I had left messages after each call. After they finally answered I was told to put my application in with whatever house but put in the notes the address of the one I wanted to apply for because it wasn't yet uploaded to the website. So, I typically don’t write any reviews but given the opportunity and the check is in the bank, I decided to not hold back from this fine establishment in Blue Springs. I would like to say first that this review doesn’t reflect all SBD Housing employees, Tiffany the receptionist was absolutely wonderful and the maintenance crew did their best with who and what they have to work with.
