Sawnee does not offer a favorable tiered rate or a lower rate for charging EVs during off peak periods. Everyone including Sawnee is receiving government incentives for being more eco friendly yet they wants to spend more consumer $s on increasing power usage during peak usage periods. Shameful!
Every time I’ve had to call customer service, the representatives were consistently rude and bitter—even when I was just asking simple questions. I had a prepaid account, and after moving I had a $48 credit from my deposit. Once I disconnected service, they came up with a list of ridiculous fees just to keep that deposit. Keep in mind, I was already on prepaid and paying daily, and I even still had a small balance left when service ended. This feels like modern-day robbery. I have been with Suwnee for almost two years this year and because they had a technical problem to where I could not make a payment I was transferred to a representative 09/12/25 where she stayed on the phone to guide me through the payment process and today I'm cleaning and my service was interrupted.I put money on the account but to sum things up the representative did not inform me on 09/12 that they process things differently using that method and it would take 3 to 4 business days to actually process. I’ve been a customer for 10+ years and they are horrible! I was once told we wouldn’t be charged a “wholesale power adjustment rate” every month that it would just be some months when they needed to purchase extra power and that was a lie! All the extra fees they are charging is ridiculous but we are forced to pay them because we can’t just choose a power provider! My next house will be NOT be one that has Sawnee EMC as its provider
