My husband and I have shopped here often. We donate even more regularly. Things have gone downhill since the pandemic and the worst part of it, no one cares. This review is to counter their lackadaisical attitude about customer service. First, they have the ultimate business model: their product is free so all that they charge, they collect as profit. Second, their employees are not only devoid of understanding what customer service is, they treat people as if they don’t care if you come back.
Example: we picked up a conduit for a transformer. They are $7-10 new. It was marked 3.99 so we figure it is worth picking up. When we got to the self service checkout, Nina, the agent working said “Electrical? This is the wrong tag. She peeled it off and called for someone to come make a “correct” price sticker. This person returned with a 5.99 sticker that said Sporting Goods. What?! I asked what this new price tag was based on, since this is most definitely not sporting goods. Nina replied “company name”. I laughed. So the name Triniton means something to you ? It’s a knock off.
She just shrugged and said “have a nice day” and walked off.
Can I pay a couple dollars more for something? Of course, but that is what they count on. At some point, while your business model is 100% profit, if you have associates, they should be trained in basic customer service. Nina just felt it was wrongly priced and then had it priced higher and in the wrong dept. I have grown tired of the lack of professionalism that this store represents. Go to the Other Side. Not only are they the epitome of customer service, they truly are a nonprofit.
