Parking was terrible and getting out of the convention center was a total eye sore! The facility itself seemed nice however the vending was terrible. $4.00 for a bottle of water is crazy! Hope I don’t have to attend anything else there anytime soon.
The space is very modern and beautiful and the location is perfect, but the concessions could use a LOT of work (perhaps partnering with some of Savannah’s stellar restaurants so convention-goers can get a nice taste of the city, even if their time is limited). Also, for the first hour of the convention, the very large fans being used to cool the space were turning at such a high speed that women’s skirts and dresses were channeling Marilyn Monroe and sales displays were being blown to the ground.
Parking was a mess..people at springtime in the south were rude.. vendors were not pleasant...we tried it twice no more for us!
We spent the last 3 days in Savannah for the Savannah Showdown and has a wonderful time. When the air handler sent a light smoke throughout the building, the staff and security quickly and safely escorted us outside, kept us safe, and got us back in as quickly as possible after the fire dept left. They stayed late as we played until almost 11pm. We showed up the next morning with absolutely no smell or effect from the episode the night before.
