I got the catfish meal with collard greens and mac & cheese. Collard greens were bland and could use some vinegar. I would have loved to dip my corn waffle into the pot liquor but there was no flavor. Mac and cheese was OK, thought it would be baked but just a regular saucy make and cheese. Catfish no complaints. First time visiting and I really had high hopes for this place. Unfortunately ,it missed the mark which was unfortunate because I really wanted to like this place. I ordered the rib combo/ potato salad and fried okra. The okra was the best tasting thing on the plate. The potato salad tasted like dill with no other seasoning. The ribs were an epic fail. I was born and raised in the south. The vibes of the restaurant is on point but the spices are not. The BBQ chicken was flavorful but the sides did not hit. Needed way more salt, paprika, cayenne, etc.. Also everything was cold when it got to the table. However, most of the restaurants in Guerneville are just okay.
We live in the “area” choices for good restaurants is slim. This is a stand out restaurant. Food, service, cost everything about it makes it our favorite place to eay.
My friends and I went to Saucy Mama’s after a long resort day and before heading towards our cabin which was a 20min drive away. Four of us ordered the fried chicken sandwich and all four of our sandwiches were drastically undercooked with pink raw insides.
