Comparing to Best western hotels, it was a disappointing.
Probably the best motel i’ve stayed in, the room was very nice, but still a motel.
Very few hotels near the Berkeley campus that are reasonably priced. I found this one but for what they charge, you would think the room would be in better shape. The walls were dirty, chipped paint, shutters broken, duvet cover would not stay on, and ripped carpet. On a positive note, the attendant onsite was very helpful letting my guest check in ahead of my arrival. They are also walking distance to restaurants, bars and the campus. Would I stay here in the future? Yes, due to limited options.

The staff at this hotel rocks. Truly. My stay of 5 nights included 3 in which I could not use electricity (for religious reasons) thus having trouble with the key-card door. Not a problem for these guys. The staff was more than willing and eager to let me into my room when I needed access day or night. Their service was a true highlight of my trip.
